Why Work as a Live-In Carer?

YOU CAN make a difference by helping elderly and disabled people to live a fuller independent life in their own home.

What does the job involve?

Some of our clients need minimal assistance with personal care; others need total help with getting up, washing and dressing etc.
Shopping
Cleaning
Companionship
You will live with the client for at least a week at a time. Actual shift patterns by
agreement
You will be provided with your own bedroom and food and drinks
You will work up to 10 hours of unmeasured work per day
You will get a 2 hour break per day at a time to be agreed with the client

Do I get regular clients?

Yes, we try where possible, and ensure you look after the same clients regularly

I haven’t got any care experience, does that make a difference?

No, experience helps but as long as you have a caring nature, we will give you all the training you need

What training will I be given?

We will give you induction training, which will be some classroom work and shadowing an experienced carer
We also provide in house NVQ training

I am very experienced; do I still need to do the training?

Yes you do, even though you have experience you need to be familiar with
company policies and procedures and the latest legislation regarding home care

What will I be paid?

A generous pay rate, dependant upon the complexity of the care package and your level of experience

When will I be paid?

You will be paid every 2 weeks, which is paid directly into your bank account

If I have any problems what should I do?

Whatever the problem you should contact the office or out of office hours the on-call manager. There will always be somebody at the end of the phone to help you
